William Eugene Loper, III, M.D.
Dr. William Loper, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He has practiced family medicine for more than 33 years, with 28 of those years in Ridgeland. Throughout his career, he has served on numerous boards, including Make-A-Wish, Catholic Charities, and Saint Joseph Catholic School. He has also held several leadership roles at Saint Dominic Memorial Hospital, where he currently serves as Chief of Staff.
A fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Loper previously served as Treasurer of the Academy’s Board. He and his wife, Sonya, have three children. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, and cheering on Ole Miss athletics.
Dr. Loper is honored to serve on the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure and grateful to Governor Tate Reeves for this opportunity, with his term running through June 30, 2026.
