Dr. Kinard, a native of Pascagoula, Mississippi, began his medical career after a brief stint in the minor leagues with the Arizona Diamondbacks professional baseball organization upon graduating from Millsaps College in 1996. He went on to earn his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003, followed by residency training in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He holds dual ABMS board certification in both specialties.

Dr. Kinard has served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Pain Society and is an active member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He also holds a DEA waiver to prescribe buprenorphine for opioid use disorder and uncomplicated opioid dependency and is nearing completion of board certification in Addiction Medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine. A regionally known speaker, he has been called upon as an expert witness to testify on standards of care in the field of Pain Medicine.

In his practice at Willow Pain and Wellness, Dr. Kinard employs a comprehensive, multimodal approach to the management of chronic pain, incorporating procedural, medical, psychotherapeutic, and rehabilitative strategies. His focus is on achieving meaningful pain relief, improving physical function, and enhancing quality of life, while minimizing reliance on medications that can lead to chemical dependency or addiction.

Dr. Kinard lives in Oxford, Mississippi, and currently serves on the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure. His term runs through June 30, 2026.
