If you are licensed in Mississippi through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, renewing your license takes two separate steps, and both must be completed by June 30.
Step 1: In the Compact’s online renewal portal at imlcc.com, complete the Compact process and pay your renewal fee. Paying in the Compact portal is only Step 1. You are not renewed in Mississippi until you complete Step 2 in MELS.
Step 2: Log in to MELS, Mississippi’s online gateway at gateway.msbml.ms.gov, and answer the required Mississippi renewal questions. The renewal section in MELS becomes available after you finish Step 1, so please allow up to 24 hours. No additional payment is required.
If both steps are not completed by June 30, your Mississippi license will expire on July 1, and you will be barred from practicing medicine in Mississippi until it is restored. After you complete both steps, you can log in to MELS to confirm.
If you still have questions after logging in, you may contact the Board at mboard@msbml.ms.gov. Please include your first and last name and “IMLCC question” in the subject line.
