Radiologist Assistant (RA) License Renewal

Radiologist Assistant (RA) License Renewal

Radiologist Assistant licenses must be renewed annually through MELS (Mississippi Enforcement and Licensure System).

Fee: $150 annually, plus a convenience fee, payable through MELS. Renewal fee is optional for those over age seventy (70). View full fee schedule.

Renewal period: May 1 through June 30 each year.

CE requirement: 24 hours of radiological-related continuing education every two years.

How to Renew

  1. Log in to MELS

    Sign in at the MELS gateway using your existing username and password.

  2. Confirm CE compliance

    Confirm you have completed at least 24 hours of radiological-related continuing education during the current two-year cycle.

  3. Complete your renewal in MELS

    Follow the prompts in MELS to complete your renewal.

  4. Submit the renewal and pay

    Pay the renewal fee through MELS. Renewal fee is optional for those over age seventy (70).

Continuing Education Requirements

Biennially complete at least 24 hours of radiological-related continuing education courses sponsored or approved by:

  • Mississippi Society of Radiologic Technologists
  • Mississippi Radiological Society
  • Mississippi Medical Association or Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association
  • AMA or AOA
  • American Society of Radiologic Technologists
  • A.R.R.T.
  • American College of Radiology or American Osteopathic College of Radiology

Lapsed License

Reinstatement after lapse

Lapsed licenses may be reinstated upon satisfactory explanation for the failure to renew, completion of a reinstatement form, payment of the renewal fee for the current year, and assessment of a fine of $25.00 plus an additional $5.00 for each month the license remains delinquent.

Change of Practice Location

Any change of practice location must be reported to the Board in writing within 30 days. Failure to notify could result in disciplinary action.
