Dr. Dotson is a native of Monroeville, Alabama. She received her medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, MPH and MBA from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She completed a residency in general surgery at Boston University and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Colon and Rectal Clinic/University of Texas in Houston. Dr. Dotson is very active in the Mississippi State Medical Association. She is a member of the AMA, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She also serves on the advisory board of the Office of Mississippi Physician Workforce. She resides in Greenville, MS with her husband. They have two children.
